TAMPA - -- A second week of jury deliberations in the terror-support trial of Sami Al-Arian and three other men ended Wednesday with no verdict. Jurors will resume their work Monday. They have spent six days weighing the 51-count indictment that charges Al-Arian, Ghassan Ballut, Hatim Fariz and Sameeh Hamoudeh with conspiracies to commit racketeering and to commit murder abroad. Prosecutors say the men ran a North American cell for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Defense attorneys say their clients are being prosecuted for constitutionally protected speech and that any money they collected went to needy orphans and other charity.
